GOLF CLUB FITTING
Playing with outdated equipment or “off-the-rack” clubs? Up to 97% of the golfers routinely play with clubs that don’t properly fit. Getting fitted for your golf clubs is an important step for those seeking to maximize their potential on the golf course.
Our club fitting philosophy is simple:
Every individual player has different swing and physical characteristics. We find out what works specifically for you and customize clubs to your swing and body type. Once you have the correct loft, lie, length and shaft flex in your clubs you now have the right tools to go out and practice and improve your game.
Our club fitting process begins with a review of your body type, ability, and current set of golf clubs. Next, using FlightScope, your current clubs, as well as a myriad of different shaft/head combinations, we gather shot data such as:
Trajectory
Shot Shape
Distance
Gaps
Club Head Speed
Ball Speed
Launch Angle
Spin
After comparing the baseline data from your current set with the data from different shaft/head combinations, we can make an accurate recommendation on what the perfect set of clubs for you should be, and build them for you.
Our golf club fittings take place at an outdoor private practice facility just steps from our front door. After your club fitting, feel free to putt, chip, or hit some balls on our range.

RE-GRIPPING
Playing with worn out grips? Grips are one of the most important components of your golf clubs and provide the connection between you and your clubs. Grips are designed to wear out and heat, dirt, and oils from your hands will degrade them over time. It is recommended that grips get changed every 40 rounds for maximum performance. New grips provide the traction and tackiness that allows for light grip pressure and a lack of tension that results in proper swing mechanics and more consistent power.
Shane’s Golf Shop stocks a wide selection of golf grips and can usually install them while you wait. If for some reason we don’t have the grips you want in stock, they can be ordered and usually arrive in a couple days.

GOLF SHAFTS
Shafts are considered “the engine” of the golf club, and their importance is often overlooked by golfers. Shaft flex is usually the only factor considered when buying “off-the-rack” clubs, even though there are many factors that come into play when picking out shafts for all of your golf clubs. In addition to “flex”, length, weight, torque, and flex profile need to be taken into account when picking out shafts.
The best way to pick the right shaft is with a club fitting. Using FlightScope, we analyze all of the major data points of your shots with different shafts to determine which setup is right for you.
Have you previously been fitted and know which shafts you want? We carry many different brands and shafts, and have access to every shaft on the market.

LOFT AND LIE ADJUSTMENTS
Do your shots have a tendency to leave the club consistently in one direction or another? Do you have large yardage gaps between some clubs? Having your clubs checked for the proper loft and lie angles is a relatively simple process that can result in major consistency gains. Did you know that golf club manufacturers build within tolerances that can result in loft and lie angle inconsistencies? Even brand new, out of the box clubs frequently come out of spec. Fitting for, and adjusting these angles is something all golfers should do with new clubs, and occasionally with your “old set”. Most clubs can be safely bent a couple degrees either way to help minimize dispersion and yardage gaps between clubs.
Our loft and lie fitting process measures the specs of your current clubs, compiles FlightScope shot data, and utilizes a lie board so that we can make the perfect adjustments to your set. We use Mitchell Golf Loft and Lie machines to safely bend your clubs to the desired specs.
